Our family loves to visit museums! Especially
science museums. And no trip to a museum can end without a stop at the museum store.
The younger children are quickly attracted by the colorful nature replicas.
Oldest son heads straight to the rock and mineral
samples and the fossils, his current passion.
Dad browses the books to look for an
interesting read.
Mom is usually found scanning the details on the
back of a science kit.
As much as our family enjoys looking in museum stores,
we rarely buy anything. There are a couple of reasons for our reluctance.
First, the cost. Everything is so expensive! Like most families, we have to really
watch our dollars.
But there is another, more important reason we don't
buy from museum stores. The content of the materials is objectionable. The
books are saturated with evolutionary presuppositions.
The science kits practically worship Darwin. That is not the influence that
we want our children to have, especially at an early age. We want our money to be used
wisely, not thrown away on worthless junk!
