If
you are looking for a rich, God-centered science curriculum for
elementary school, Apologia Science is what you are looking for!
Each
subject, Astronomy, Botany, Zoology, and Anatomy (coming soon) delves
deeply into the subject material, giving the child "ownership" of the
subject, planting confidence and a love of learning in their young
minds and an awe of their Creator in their tender hearts. The books,
written in a Charlotte Mason style of conversational narration, will
make you want to cuddle up on the couch with all your children and read
away the morning. Your children will be so engrossed in the interesting
writing style of Jeannie Fulbright that they will forget that they are
actually doing school work! Each lesson is followed by notebooking
suggestions and fun projects and experiments. Dr. Wile, a former
university professor and homeschool parent himself, authored the next
two books for Middle School/Junior High - General Science and Physical
Science. Continuing the same conversational style, older kids will gain
independence as they complete the entire course on their own, including
many lab experiments that will prepare them for the demands of high
school and college courses.
Books
- We are currently selling the books for Elementary and and Middle
School/Jr. High - Astronomy, Botany, Zoology 1, 2, 3, Anatomy (coming
soon), General Science and Physical Science. Our apologies, but we do
not currently sell the upper level books (Biology, Physics, etc.)
Deluxe Family Supply Kits
- These kits contain pretty much everything that you need to complete
all the projects in every lesson of the book. We jokingly call these
our rubberband and cottonball kits because we put even the most common
items in them. As a super busy homeschool educator, we don't want you
to have to lift a finger to find supplies! We even have a 2nd Student Kit that you can add if you are using the book with more than one child.
Priority Supply Kits
- These kits are affectionately referred to around Creation Sensation
as the Wal-mart kits. What we mean is that this kit supplies the items
that you can not find at Wal-mart (or items that you would have to buy
in large quantities when you only need one). While most of the objects
omitted from the kit are very common things that you probably already
have at home (like rubberbands and cottonballs) everything NOT included
in the kit is available at your local Wal-mart. And to make it even
easier, we have included a Wal-mart shopping list with shopping hints
to make it easy to find what you need. These kits are less expensive
than the Deluxe kits, but of course, you will have to do some of the
work yourself.
Co-op Supply Kits
- Co-ops are a wonderful trend in the homeschool community! And science
co-ops are very popular with both parents and students because a group
setting is often what is required to make the experiments and projects
really come alive! Apologia Science has been successfully used in many
different cooperative settings, differing in size from a few family
friends getting together once a month to discuss what they've learned,
to formal, large-scale, school-like co-op groups with hundreds of kids.
We want to make it easy for you to secure supplies for your group, no
matter what the size. That is why we custom build each co-op kit
ordered.
