Carla's Notes:

You can see the complete contents of the kit here. The most frequently asked question about the Creation Sensation Deluxe Family Astronomy Kit is "What doesn't come with it?"

My answer - paper, a bowl (large), a pencil, cooking oil (2 tsp.), water, butter or margarine, a plate, a bowl (small), a saucepan, a stove, a lamp, a lid from yogurt container (substitute a bowl), a knife, sticks, scrap cardboard or plastic, a baking pan, vinegar (You will want to buy at least a quart of this.  Sorry, but we just can't ship it.), dishwashing liquid (1 drop), 2 plastic water or soda bottles, glass/plastic jar (pickle jar, peanut butter jar, etc.), ice, your choice of ingredients for ice cream (check text), recyclables from trash – wires, paper towel rolls, soda bottles, lids, etc.

That's it. Everything else is in the box! Other than maybe the vinegar, you most likely have the rest of the items already around your house. You will notice that some of the items must be salvaged from your household trash.  Don't forget to start saving early.  And don't forget that if you have several children sharing a book, you might want to purchase a 2nd Student Kit.

Astronomical deal!

"Astronomical deal!"

Comments: This year was our first year to home school and we used Apologia Astronomy for our science. AS a very frugal person and with 4 people living on one income I was unsure as to whether this "kit" was really necessary. It was a TOTAL LIFESAVER! Cannot imagine "doing" science without it, nor do I plan on it! When you're making decisions all day, it's nice to have these decisions made and errands/gathering done thanks to CS. Now to buy our Botany kit for the Fall. This is a HUGE time saver, something ... More details

Comments: Received the Astronomy Deluxe Kit last week. It's the first science kit I've ordered, and I thought it was a splurge. One of my friends corrected me and said it wasn't a splurge it, "...was an amazing act of wisdom on your part to maintain sanity!" I have to agree! Life is busy already, but add homeschooling with multiple children and it can get a bit crazy! Having someone else do the 'footwork' to gather all the activity and experiment supplies is extremely helful. The kit is greatlessons are l... More details

Comments: I know myself too well. If everything I need isn't right there I won't do the experiment or project with my kids. I value their education too much to let that happen. Creation Sensation's Deluxe Kits have helped me stay true to my values. I couldn't imagine doing science without them.
